Making An Adoption Plan
Making An Adoption Plan
It is the policy of CFS to offer to you an adoption plan that has various degrees of openness, depending on your needs.
Some women might prefer a closed, or confidential, adoption. This is where the agency chooses the family and you decide not to receive any information after placement. This is a choice you can make if you wish.
However, you may choose to view portfolios and select the family you desire to raise your child. You may choose to meet the adoptive parents in person. You may also choose to receive updates and photos of your child until your child reaches the age of majority. CFS offers you all theses options.
This practice of openness allows you to have the reassurance that the child you place is doing well and you can feel you know the family you have chosen. All this is done in an effort to give you some peace of mind about the decision you make.
